In Over There on the Other Side by Satiago Vaquera-Vasquez, he tells us a story about some of the tough times that the people of Mexico go through. He starts it off by telling us about how hikm and his mother are in thier car trying to get across the boarder, but it is harder than it used to be. When his mother and father were younger, they went across the boarder because their youth was seen as innosence to the gaurds so they just let them go with no questions asked. But now things are harder and blood is being shed all because people are trying to seek out better lives for them and their families. He talks about how seventy-two mexicans were murdered trying to cross the boarder. He eleaborates on how they all had families, how they probably knew how dangerous it was and how they could be killed or enslaved but they didnt let that stop them, and how they did it to find hope for a better tomorrow. When he says all of this is when I really feel for the author, he makes the seventy-two men real people and not just a number by adding in these details.
