The Good Life tour at the Harn Museum, has an overwhelming amount of very interesting pieces on display. The tour was much more interesting then I had inticipated, and i found it to be very worthwhile. They had a very diverse display of art for visitors to gawk at, and the fact that it was not just pictures and painting made it more intereting to more than just one type of person. The pieces I found most interesting were all very different from each other and unique in their own ways. The first piece of art I'm going to talk about is the called the Hammering Man. I thought this piece as exceptionally cool because of the story behind it. The Hammering Man reprents the worker in all people. This statue is twenty-four feet tall and is not only an exibit on display here in Gainsville, but in tons of places around the world. In places like Norway and Sounth Korea, there are Hammering Men standing tall and reminding its observers of the hard workers in all of us. The next piece of art I liked was the wide variety of ceramics they had on display from Japan. Each piece of ceramic art was different and they were not all pots like you assume when you think of ceramics. They had all different shapes and sizes that were created in all different

textures and colors. They were so beautiful and they were all influenced by the old traditional artists from japan. Some work is very old and by deseased artists but some are from the new treasured artists of our time. The last but not least exhibiton comes form their Asian exhibit. This collection involves many interesting pieces. The parts of this collection are all based off of traditonal ideas and they are use very beautiful tools to make them. One specific thing i found interesting in this exhibit was the pottery. I know I already mentioned the ceramics from Japan, but I thought it was really cool to look at both and compare and contrast the two. They both have similarities and differences. I noticed the Japaneese art has more suttle colors and textures, whilethe ceramics from all over Asia have bright beautiful colors and a wide variety of textures. The Asian collection comes from coutries all over asia such as china, japan, and central asia. The pots are convered with intricate details that add to their beauty. Over all the museum had many wonderful artifacts on display. They all really captured the essence of their culture very well. My favorite out of all of them was the Hammering Man, becuase it stood for so much in our world today. It also ties the whole world together, because cities all over the world have this piece of art to represent the hard work of the people of the world. The fact that the Harn Muesum in Gainseville has it makes it seem like we are apart of the world wide exib of art.
